Offshore

International investors have unique and often complex circumstances. Their varied objectives require expert guidance and support and a flexible, proactive approach.

Offshore Bonds

Offshore Bonds can be used by wealthy families and individuals as an efficient vehicle for their financial arrangements. In the correct circumstances they can help with tax planning across the range of taxes, as well as with asset protection and succession planning.

Brown Shipley is able to advise you on the suitability of this type of strategy and establish arrangements in an appropriate jurisdiction, working with your other advisers for the benefit of both current and future generations.

Offshore Bonds deliver unique benefits such as:

  • An efficient investment wrapper
  • Tax advantages
  • Succession planning within generations
  • Inheritance tax (and its overseas equivalent) savings
  • Safety and confidentiality

Offshore Trusts & Companies

We work with Trust Companies in a number of jurisdictions to deliver a truly bespoke service to our international partners. Their need is for a dependable, discrete, professional and personal service free from conflicts of interest. We travel regularly to see both the underlying clients and their advisors

Investment in the UK for Immigration Purposes

For those with significant sums to invest, recent changes to Immigration Regulations have made the UK a more attractive proposition for clients wishing to settle here. We can construct portfolios which will ensure that qualification requirements for gaining residency through the Tier 1 Investment Visa are met and the client receives all the support they need, particularly if they are establishing a presence in the UK.

The International Investor

Increasingly, the UK is seen as an attractive environment in which to live and many of our overseas clients are spending more time here but will perhaps eventually return to their country of origin.  Their needs can be quite different to the UK resident and domiciled investor and are often highly sensitive to their tax position. The optimal portfolio takes all these factors into account and our recommendations are based on the most appropriate structure for the individual, both in the short and long term which may involve the careful selection of investments in other jurisdictions and multiple currencies.
