Brown Shipley adds to Development Team in the North

1st February 2010

Private Bank Brown Shipley continues to strengthen its business development team with the appointment of David Hardy as Intermediary Development Director, based in their Leeds office.

Mr Hardy will work in the development team headed by Ian Rogers. He will help in developing distribution channels in Northern England and Scotland with lawyers, accountants and IFA's with high net worth private clients as well as corporate finance boutiques. He joins after holding a similar role at Bachmann Trust Company Limited and before that, Butterfield Private Bank.

This latest appointment to the business development team follows Tim Meikle's in November 2009 and demonstrates Brown Shipley's ongoing growth strategy for 2010. The private bank, which celebrates its bicentenary this year, continues to be committed to the intermediary sector.

Commenting on the announcement, Managing Director Ian Sackfield said “David's appointment is very important for Brown Shipley in the North of England and Scotland. David will work from Leeds and also concentrate on our larger office in Manchester as well as our growing presence in Edinburgh. It is further demonstration of our determination to continue to successfully grow our business throughout the UK.

“Under Ian Rogers we have built a formidable development team. We believe intermediaries are a very important part of our future growth strategy and David's appointment is an unequivocal commitment to that sector across the UK both by our private banking business and our fund management arm.”
