Lending Push With Appointment of Manchester-based Specialist

18 April 2017

Brown Shipley, experts in wealth planning, investment management and lending, is pleased to announce the appointment of lending specialist Chris Wiltshire as the business continues to strengthen its lending expertise through strategic hires.

Chris, who has over 14 years’ experience, will support the business as it looks to grow its lending book and broaden its offering in this area. He will be based in the Manchester office, working with a wider team of five experienced lending specialists across Brown Shipley’s six offices to provide both secured and unsecured loans to both existing and new clients.

Chris will also support the recently appointed Head of Lending, Richard Stubbs, who joined the London office last month. Richard is responsible for leading the business’ focus on growing and servicing its lending book.

Prior to joining Brown Shipley, Chris was an Associate Director at Coutts where he managed a portfolio of HNW private clients across the North West. His role included advising and facilitating mortgage lending, as well as other more complex financing facilities.

Commenting on the appointment, Guy Healey, Head of Private Banking at Brown Shipley, said: “We are delighted to have Chris join the business as we look to expand our lending offer and further the roll-out of our bespoke lending solutions. Chris’ appointment also further underlines Brown Shipley’s commitment and ability to support clients across all areas of the wealth management spectrum, with lending now an integral element.”

“Building upon the appointment of Richard Stubbs as Head of Lending only last month, there is now extremely positive momentum behind the lending team.”

Chris Wiltshire, added: “I am delighted to be joining Brown Shipley and its highly regarded Manchester team. I was particularly drawn to the business’ full service wealth management proposition and the prospect of working alongside a broad team of experts, including wealth planners and investment professionals, when advising clients. I now look forward to supporting Richard Stubbs and the wider team in further growing the lending book.”

Brown Shipley’s lending services include short term credit facilities, including Lombard loans, bridging loans and overdraft facilities, as well as longer term credit arrangements, including residential and buy-to-let mortgages.

The business’ lending service is available to clients who already have wealth management accounts with the firm or are in the process of opening one. The minimum wealth management account to be eligible for lending is £500,000 invested.
